Welcome to Acalanes Area Chapter

National Charity League, Inc., is a unique mother-daughter organization.  A small group of ladies and some of their daughters interested in philanthropic work began meeting informally between 1925 and 1938.  This group was the nucleus of The Charity League.  The daughters became known as Ticktockers and in 1938  became recognized as an official group.  They were sponsored by Mrs. Paul W. Lawrence, one of the original Ticktockers.

Charity League was reorganized and renamed National Charity League in 1947 and incorporated as a non-profit organization.  Mrs. Lawrence served as the first president.

The year 1958 saw even more changes as articles of incorporation were filed and the National Board of directors became National Charity League, Inc.
