Kimberly, Can you please confirm that this will work? I tried it out today using our dummy account, and it worked perfectly, but I want to confirm before I advertise to our Chapter. If it does work, this will be super!
We have a Calendar Manager in our NCL Chapter. Her job is to enter all of the Philanthropy and League events on the website calendar. If our Calendar Manager creates an entry which requires sign ups, if she checks "Notify Related to Groups for Sign Ups and Cancellations" and then selects the event chair or event committee for "Related to" field, will the website send an automatic response to that event chair or event committee with every sign up?
I tried this today with a League event, and under "Related to", I selected the individual's NCL position (Jr. Style Show Chair.) I tried it again and was able to send the notification to the entire committee (Jr. Style Show Committee.) Then I created a fake Philanthropy sign up, and under "Related to", I selected the Liaison's NCL position as I set it up under the Position tab (Philanthropy - Z Test Philanthropy.) I did NOT give the Dummy account "Philanthropy Liaison" rights under Member Roles, and the Dummy account received a sign up confirmation e-mail.
SO hoping this will work! As we've discussed before, we're avoiding the Phil. Liaison Role in our Chapter, at least for now. Thanks so much! Your computer illiterate friend.

Hi Patsy,
Yes, if you set the "Notify related to Groups for Sign Ups and Cancellations" then set the Related to field to a Committee, Philanthropy, etc. the people in this group will get notified if anyone signs up or deletes themselves from an event.
A lot of chapters use this to notify their Philanthropy Liaisons, so they will select "Notify related to" and then in the related to drop down will select a particular Philanthropy. If a members is added as the Liaison for this philanthropy they will get the notification of signs up, etc. It works the same with Committees and positions (whatever you select in the Related to drop down).
If you have any other questions, please let me know but it sounds like you have the right idea.
PS Sorry for your Texas loss this weekend. :(

Perfect! I'm so glad to have this function. I've already had Juniors signing up for dress fittings for the style show, and the committee called to thank me for the e-mail notice. Gave me a chance to brag on the website! I'll have my Calendar Manager use it when she creates calendar entries to notify the appropriate Chair for food signups for meetings, RSVPs for events, Philanthropy sign ups, carpools to meetings--the list is endless. There will be many happy people in our Chapter.
Thanks again! As for Texas...sigh. Our high school team lost as well, so football was not a very happy topic around here this weekend. Of course, both of our marching bands ruled!
